Chapter Fifteen

Spencer cleared her throat. "I want to go over the security plans now."

"Of course." Gage pointed to the table. "We just finished reviewing the whole hotel."

"How long have you guys been here, Mitch?" Drake asked. "And how did you find me?"

Mitch grinned. "You didn't think you outsmarted us, did you? How long have we worked for you?"

"What Mitch means to say is we wanted to err on the side of caution in this situation, owing to the fact you were eager to be with your sister," Logan said as he re-entered the room.

"So he's the diplomatic one," Spencer leaned against the table and crossed her arms over her chest. "Who's in charge?"

"I am," all three brothers replied at once.

She sighed. She was all out of fucks to give at the moment, and the comedy routine was getting old. "Someone needs to tell me what the hell is going on. No one called you, so how are you here?"

Gage pulled out one of the dining table chairs and sat down. "We assumed that Drake might be out of contact at some point during all of this, whether he planned to be or not, so we installed a tracker."

"A tracker?" Drake frowned. "But I've changed clothes, even shoes. There's nothing I am currently wearing that I had on when I was with you all." He stopped. "Wait, did you have that nurse shoot something into my blood stream?"

Spencer ground her teeth. "There is no tracker that can be deposited in the human body. It would need an energy source to work, and there are no batteries small enough."

"Yet." Mitch smiled.

"Yet," she agreed.

"So perhaps, Mitch, you can tell me exactly how you tracked me?" Drake's eyes narrowed.

Spencer tried not to smile, but she enjoyed the fact that Drake was pissed about this. At least she wasn't the only one annoyed at this point. His annoyance also meant he wasn't aware of being tracked, so he hadn’t lied to her about it. That should make her feel better, but it didn't. Jameson Drake made her feel...unsettled, and she didn't like the sensation one bit.

Gage smiled slightly. "If you recall, the nurse got her bracelet caught on your watch. We had her do that on purpose. We put a tracker in with the battery. Don't worry, I know the watch is important to you. We didn’t damage it but, it has allowed us to keep track of your whereabouts."

Drake frowned and touched his watch. His eyes narrowed before he shrugged. "Well, I will say I’m damn happy to see you. I didn't expect Joe's people to be waiting by the hotel for us. Stupid when I stop and think now. I guess I should've expected it. Where else would we go?"

"Many places," Spencer said, her voice hard.

"Well, we're here now," Drake growled.

"Perhaps you can fill us in. Who were those men chasing you? I’m assuming they want your sister?" Gage asked. “And should we also assume they were the same men that were outside the house earlier?”

“You were there?”

“Of course.
